Maiah Nandin is officially ours!!!!!
Hello everyone, let me start by saying thank you for praying. When Derek and I both woke up this morning, neither of us had peace about having the ceremony/party at the Children's Place. We called one of the ladies in charge and told her how we felt and why. We explained that we thought emotionally she was not ready to go back and then leave again. We knew we would be the bad guys carrying her away screaming again and we have come leaps and bounds from that on Tuesday. The response initially was not what we had hoped. Thinking they know better than us, we reluctantly agreed to have it there. Well, shortly after we hung up we got a call back and the party was now going to be at our hotel room at 1100. God really spoke to the hearts of a few of the women in charge and come to find out it was not unusual for it not to be back at the Childrens Place. Another family had had it at their hotel lobby, so this made us feel better. Well at our hotel room it was, thank God we have a large suite. All 21 caretakers, along with 7 or 8 children(Maiahs closest friends),the director, Margie, Rita, and Carol and even a few volunteers came loaded up with treats, candy and an incredible cake. They gave Maiah a bag full of beautiful presents including a traditional Mongolian del (outfit/dress)not sure if I spelled it right. Maiah stayed very close to Nathan the whole time until the snacks broke out at which time she went around the room and shared her drink with all of her little friends. They said this is part of her way of saying goodbye. You could tell she was torn, sad but happy. I cried the second her friends walked in the door and the drink sharing did me in. If I was feeling the way I was, I can only imagine what was going on in her mind. I gave out gifts and we said some thank yous to all the woman who have loved and cared for her. Then, our social worker showed up at the door and said that she had just got a call from the government and we had to be downtown at 1200 to sign our official adoption contract. So, in the middle of the party, off Derek and I went to make it all official!! Maiah Nandin Erdene is now a Petrin!!! We have paperwork to prove it. After 22 months of waiting, God had mercy today. The process took 4 minutes, a smile and a handshake with the government officials. Thank you God!!! Back at the hotel, Carol, Nathan and Kaytlin had to deal with the final goodbyes and it was not easy for Maiah but she just loves her brother and sister and so I really believe that God allowed them this opportunity to be there for her. She is really bonding with both of them now. Nathan and Kaytlin have been so amazing and patient with us and her. I think Nathan now knows why God wanted him on this trip. We have watched them physically and emotionally exhausted press through to breakthrough with Maiah. We knew they would have a tremendous impact on her and we have been so blessed by both of them, they are both amazing kids. For Derek and I, it is going to take some time for her to grieve all the Mama's she has lost at the Children's Place and time we have plenty of .........again thank you so much for praying. We can't wait to be home as a family and introduce our precious treasure to you all......this blog in itself is going to speak volumes to Maiah when she is old enough to understand. It will blow her mind how many people loved her before they ever even knew her. Much love, Stacy

GOD is BIGGER...Each time something is given to Him, He proves to be BIGGER and answer prayers beyond belief. The power behind Him, when everyone is praying for His will is amazing to me.
We are so incredibly excited for you guys....To know now, it is just normal kid stuff that you will have to deal with...but guess what, God brought you this far & will never let any of you go !!!
Can't wait to be putting that car seat in the Tahoe & driving it to work the day you come home...I don't think I will be able to focus on anything but waiting on our family to come home that day...
We love you all very much & appreciate all you have done for our niece & cousin...To set her free & allow her & all of you to be used for God's purpose...When I grow up, I want to be just like you guys...all of you...
Love, kisses & hugs,
Aimee, Bryan, Logan & Hannah

Chris
I am so thankful for God's faithfulness. Grampy & I are so, so excited. I cried reading this mornings update.
Stringbean & Irene - Memere & Grampy are so proud of you 2. We already knew you were the best kids ever but now you are also the best big brother and sister ever. It was so nice to get to talk to you last night. I just can't believe Kaytlin won't bring me home a snowball for all the snowballs I have saved in my freezer for her over the years. :)
Derek & Stacy thank you for making all of us so intimately part of this journey. I love all of you with all my heart.
Gran-Memere & Tatante send their love also. Tatante wishes she had internet access!
Love Memere Mad & Grampy "Gene" :)
P.S. To keep with the nickname tradition is Maiah going to be Jellybean?
We are so excited for you. Stac, that was a beautiful blog to wake up to.
Nate and Kate, we always told you that you were the best two kids in the world...once again you proved to us how truly amazing you both are.
Maiah is very lucky to have a brother and sister like you. Oh, and Derek and Stac your an inspiration to us all.

Praise God! What an awesome blog to wake up to! Keeping with tradition it is the first thing we do in the morning, in fact, Gabrielle woke me up this morning to let me know there was an update. Of course I cried when I read about the drink sharing. After seeing all the pics of the kids I could just visualize all of this taking place. When I was praying I asked God to make a way for closure for the workers without causing Maiah trauma. Having the party at the hotel was what He brought to my mind. Glad to know it all worked out. And of course it did because God always has the right answers! I'm glad both the kids got to go because it sounds like all three are bonding wonderfully! Congratulations on you "official" new addition! We love you all!
The Gomoke's
I cried and then I laughed...He is so faithful!!! I know all of us were concerned & praying about you having to go back to the orphanage BUT THEN GOD... He always makes a way where there seems to be no way. I believe that was just another gift among many, many gifts you will see as "Papa" moves in your family's life. There is a purpose & a plan...He knows every step on the journey you will take with your new daughter. How exciting this has all been & will continue to be! We serve a wonderful Lord who is full of surprizes. I am overwhelmed with His goodness & kindness! Cannot wait to see everyone...lots of love & hugs & kisses!
Hey Petrin 5!!!
I've been following your blog and crying with the rest of you. When I realized that Maiah would be reading this later in life, I wanted to be a part of the history!!!!
As I was waking up this morning, I was cuddling with Grace (she slept with James and me last night). Even though she's an incredible bed-hog, I love waking up in the morning and holding her and praying over her whatever the Father puts in my heart to pray. Well this morning, I prayed for her a little, and then prayed over Maiah as well.
God keeps speaking to me about this whole process you've been going through. He's been speaking about the relationship between what you guys have done for Maiah and what He did for us by sending His Son to die for us.
He came to rescue us. He paid the ransom for us. He came to set the captive free. And so many times, we struggle against the very thing that will bring us life, simply because we don't know any better and don't understand the spiritual language of what's going on. And the whole time, we've been created FOR THIS. We have a whole in our heart FOR THIS. And many times we wrestle against it.
And yet, He gently calls us to Himself, to intimacy with Him. And we may not respond right away, but He keeps calling. We can take a single baby step in His direction, and all of Heaven rejoices over it!!
And you have not adopted Maiah simply because she can now sleep in her own room, surrounded by stuffed animals and a closet full of clothes, God has not established this relationship with us just so we can have fire insurance. He came to be our salvation (an ever-ongoing process) - our deliverer, our kinsmen redeemer, our healer, our provider. And with God's help - you four will impart all these things to Maiah.
Maiah -- God has always had His eye on you. He knew you before the world was created. He loved you so much that He sent His son to die for you. He resurrected His Son so that you'd have life, provision, healing, deliverance, and intimacy with the God of the Universe. WELCOME HOME!!!!!
What a blessing to see this whole process taking place in your lives (the formerly 4, currently 5)! And Derek, I think she looks like you - especially in the cheek area.
Petrins, let me know if there is anything we can do for you. Our prayers will continue to be with you -
Blessings, Suzanne
Do you know the Hallelujah Chorus of Handel's Messiah? It's pretty easy...
just the word Hallelujah over and over again to triumphant orchestral accompaniment. Well, if you listen closely you can hear me singing and shouting loudly here in the suburbs of Zuni!! Love to all, rest easy in His everlasting arms! Ann
Every morning when I arrive to work the first thing I do is to read the latest update. Then at some point throughout the day I call my Mom (Auntie Claire) to see if she has heard the latest and if not update her. I have felt like I have been on this journey with you, I have laughed, I have cried. Today I see you officially became the Petrin 5 how very exciting for all of you and all of us :).
Congratulations and I wish you all the best.
Love Denise

I AM SO EXCITED EVERY MORNING TO READ A NEW UPDATE. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US SO INFORMED. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT LIFE WOULD BE LIKE WITHOUT THIS BLOG....THE AGONY WOULD BE BEYOND BELIEF...
AS MANY HAVE ALREADY SAID, YOU INDEED HAVE AMAZING CHILDREN...HOW LUCKY MAIAH IS TO NOW BE APART OF SUCH A WONDERFUL FAMILY....KISS HER AND HUG HER AND ALWAYS REMIND HER HOW MUCH YOU LOVE HER, THEY GROW SO FAST,THOUGH I'M SURE THIS WON'T BE VERY HARD TO DO!!!!!!! YOUR CHILDREN HAVE BECOME A TRUE TESTIMONY OF YOUR LOVE...WITHOUT WONDERFUL PARENTS LIKE THE TWO OF YOU, THEY WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO REALIZE THEIR IMPORTANTS IN THIS JOURNEY...YOU HAVE TOUGHT THEM HOW TO LOVE, AND HOW IMPORTANT THE TRUE MEANING OF FAMILY IS....YOU SHOULD BOTH BE VERY PROUD....MAY YOU SHARE ALL THESE WONDERFUL QUALITIES WITH YOUR NEW LITTLE GIRL.. I LOVE YOU ALL. GOD BLESS

Hello Petrin 5,
I just received the link to your blog. Wow! What an awesome story you will have to share with others who will be going through the same process in the future.
Monelle and I have been constantly praying for you on your adventure and I am glad to see the Father blessing and ordering your steps to the very end. We are excited with you and cannot wait to meet Maiah in person. Be encouraged as your promise has been fulfilled and the future is filled with blessing and joy as you return home.
See ya soon.
Bob
Bob.
Exhale my brother and sister, yes there will be moments of adjustments in both surroundings and communication. Each little victory will cloud out the difficult moments.
I can't think of a couple who was more prepared for Maiah than you Derrick and Stacy. All I can think of is this, Maiah was YOUR DAUGHTER THE DAY SHE WAS CONCIEVED. PRAISE GOD!
Soon you will wake up to find her cuddled up between you two in bed. Soon, you will hear her cry for you when she skins her knee. Soon, you will hear say I love you.
She will fall in love with her Mom and Dad. She will get into your makeup Stacy and she will get into your office Derrick. What a wonderful day it is.
You are His Fragrance Petrins, you are His hands, you are His love extended to Maiah. She is your treasure, she is your jewel from your Father.
love you , love you
Michael,Bernadette and the clan
