HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM KOREA!!!

Good morning from Korea and Happy New Year!! All is well, the flight felt like it was never going to end but we arrived safe and very tired. We were all in bed at 830 last night and slept until 7 this morning. Kaytlin was actually up at 300 playing her DS in the bathroom so she would not wake me up. We just had Burger King and Dunkin Donuts for breakfast so you know the kids were in heaven:) Our flight leaves at 1:20 and we should arrive in Mongolia at 4pm and get to the Childrens Place around 5 to meet our sweet daughter and sister!! Yes, we are so very anxious. All we see every time we turn around are beautiful little Asian girls smiling at us. We can't wait for our sweet girl to smile back at us.........very soon!!! We love you all, thank you for all the sweet thoughts and prayers. More from Mongolia........

Off to Mongolia!!!!

Well, we are all packed up and ready to go. Would you believe that we can't sleep?? Everyone has been asking us for a rundown of our trip for prayer purposes. Once you see it, you'll know why we need prayer:) Here is what our trip will look like:
We leave Norfolk at 710am on 30Jan2006 and arrive in Atlanta around 9am. At noon,we then settle in for our 16 hour flight to Seoul, Korea where we will arrive around 5pm on 31Jan2006. We will ring in the New Year in Seoul as our flight to Mongolia is on the 1st!! Long lay-over......On Monday the 1st, we leave Seoul for Mongolia and hope to meet Maiah around 530pm, 530am your time. Yeah!!! Please be praying for all of us, especially Maiah at this time. We will be in Mongolia all week taking care of adoption paperwork and stocking up on cultural keepsakes for Maiah. Then its back to Seoul for Embassy paperwork before we can come home as "The Petrin 5". We are due back on 12Jan2006 but are hoping for a quick turn around with paperwork in Seoul and maybe coming home earlier. We will keep you posted.

Preparation

Less than 24 hours and things are nuts. I had to work today, Stacy is cleaning and arranging. The kids are realizing now the gravity of our journey. It begins to sink in; How long is the flight? My ipod will only last for 8 hours, What am I going to do for 16 hours on a plane. Ah the joys of only wanting to be entertained and fed, the good old days.
On a serious note we are prepared with passports in hand and extreme weather gear in the other. The preparation has been going on for 22 months so we are not going to doubt God now! We will be as diligent as possible to keep everyone informed as the wireless connections allow. Thank you again for all your prayers and support. To Mongolia, Beam me thataway Scotty!!! D

Still Waiting

We have been patiently waiting for the arrival of Maiah. We are still caught in the bureaucratic nightmare. The fact that we know she is healthy and coming home soon is comforting but the wait is really grueling, 21 months and waiting. Anyone who tells you this process is not grueling has issues. The faint of heart would end up going postal or on medication. Praise God he provides in all situations at all times. Stacy and I promise to keep all of you posted and appreciate all of your prayers and support. With my own twist to an old Christmas Classic; All I want for Christmas are those two big cheeks!!
